Job Description :


  • Cisco Prime Network Registrar (CPNR) is a successful, high performance, unified software product providing DHCP and DNS services. 
  • CPNR is a market leader in both Service Provider and Enterprise domains. 
  • It forms basis of the device provisioning systems deployed by largest service providers in US and around the world. 
  • CPNR is also deployed by thousands of large and medium size enterprises around the world. 
  • Service Provider Management Applications Business Unit (SPMABU) is focusing on building next generation features to expand this highly successful product to address opportunities from market adjacencies like cloud computing, managed service providers (MSP), UCS and Smart grid.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop large portions of complex software independently and rapidly with quality
  • Contribute in design, development and engineering of next generation features in CPNR
  • Contribute to writing functional and design specifications for those features
  • Integrate and troubleshoot component level as well as system level issues
  • Interact with TAC, partners and customers to deal with real world deployment issues

Required Skills :

  • Strong hands-on programming experience using C/C++ - must have knowledge in memory management, and locking strategies to optimize performance
  • Experience in creating and reviewing designs, specifications, estimates, and code
  • Ability to work cohesively within the team and across geographically spread teams to drive and deliver results
  • Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting under Linux/Unix/Windows environments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize, while effectively managing time
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on complex software systems and existing code base
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Desired Skills :

  • Knowledge in developing and maintaining high performance-multithreaded servers
  • Experience in design, development of system infrastructure
  • software, such as high availability and in-service software upgrade for complex networking products is a big plus
  • Knowledge of DHCP and/or DNS is a big plus
  • IPv6 knowledge is a big plus
  • Knowledge/experience in Java, JNI is a big plus
  • Web development experience in XML, JSP, Servlets, DOJO, Javascript and Tomcat is a plus
  • Knowledge of Network Management & Element Management tools (NMS/EMS) is a plus

Responsibilities :

  • Consistently share best practices with team members. Act as technical resource for broad and complex issues, and may typically be assigned to moderately strategic accounts. Ability to develop and deliver “in depth” technical training to other engineers.
  • Write complex technical articles and sample programs for knowledge base.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of pre-release products and take ownership for product improvement in key product areas.

Candidates Profile :

  • Strong Experience in Active Directory Services.
  • Strong Experience in ADS, Group Policies, FSMO Roles, DNS Zones, Replications etc
  • MCSE - Windows 2000
  • Additional Technology Certifications - Cisco, Novell, Unix, Security etc (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in administering Microsoft® Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Servers.
  • Good English Communication Skills - Spoken and Written (including technical writing)
  • Strong Trouble Shooting and problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer Service skills and effective learning skills

Critical Exposure areas & Technical Specifications :

  • Strong Experience in Active Directory Services.
